Zachary John Ryan, 6, of 4950 16th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, from an accident. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Gary Dobbins. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Cassie Riha of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Jeremy Riha of Cedar Rapids; his aunts and uncle, Julie Furnish, Dusty (Matt) Walker, Jim Furnish, all of Cedar Rapids and Pam (Larry) Marek, of Oxford Junction; his grandparents, John Ryan of Shellsburg and Shirley Kness of Cedar Rapids; cousins, Haley, Jessica, Kayla, Megan, Kyle, Ryan and Kendra; many second cousins and great-aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Norman Willett.
Zachary was born November 7, 1998, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A very outgoing and inquisitive boy, he loved to wrestle with his brother, play with his cat, Joey, play basketball, ride his bicycle and go four wheeling. Zachary also enjoyed playing with water guns, cheat at paper-rock-scissors and watch cartoons and scary movies. He was friendly to everyone and always had hugs and kisses for all.
