Winton D. Goodlove, 84, of Central City, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at his home, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2007, at St. Stephen Catholic Church by Rev. Wayne Droessler. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Jordan?s Grove Cemetery, rural Central City.
Survivors include his daughter, Charlotte Fietek; eight grandchildren, Julie Wood, Mike Whitney, Neil Whitney, Rachel Slagle, Valerie Fietek, Tina Hickey, Jim Goodlove and Laura Steiger; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Berniece; and his son, Harold Goodlove.
Winton was born December 26, 1922, in rural Central City, the son of Wallace and Ethel (Aikin) Goodlove. He married Berniece Kula September 21, 1943, in Prairieburg. She died November 26, 1999. Winton farmed his entire life in the Central City area. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the Central City Historical Society where he enjoyed researching family genealogy.
