Wilma J. Welfare, 91, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home,Cedar Rapids
Survivors include her children, Marilynn Keller of Cedar Rapids, James Welfare of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Alan Welfare of Detroit, Michigan; a grandson, Robert Keller of Dubuque; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas; and two brothers, Jim and George Leikert.
Wilma was born February 4, 1920, the daughter of George and Bessie (Rockwell) Leikert, in Detroit, Michigan. On March 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Douglas C. Welfare. He died March 7, 2000.
