Wilma “Jeannine” Greene, 81, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, at her home after a short illness. She was surrounded by her children. In agreement with Jeannine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, conducted by Reverend Kraig O’Malley. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Jeannine is survived by her brother, Wendell Hall; sister, Joan (Jim) Christy; four sons, Kevin, Kelly (Shari), Kirk (Debi), and Kraig (Robin); one daughter, Kris Long; three step-daughters, Kathy Greene, Pam (Mike) Glowacki, and Paula (Steve) Peot; one step-son, Dennis (Kim) Greene; 41 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Bill Greene; son, Kory; and extended family members including, Ralph Hall.
Jeannine was born on April 6, 1936, in Keithsburg, Illinois, the daughter of Lorenzo and Julia Esther (Brown) Hall. She graduated from Keithsburg High School in 1954. Jeannine was united in marriage to William “Bill” O’Malley in September of 1955, they later divorced. On December 24, 1975, Jeannine and William Greene were united in marriage. She was formerly employed at FMC for ten years and Norand for 15 years. Jeannine was also a homemaker all her life. Her life revolved around her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Unity Point Hospice staff, especially, Robin, Angie, and Becky for the care and support they gave Jeannine during her final days.
