Wilma Margaret Hatch, 98, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Visitation will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at Manchester Methodist Church with the Reverend Phil Rogers officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma was born on February 18, 1925, on the family farm near Greeley, Iowa, the daughter of William and Margaret (Hartbeck) Holthaus. She graduated from Colesburg High School and attended Upper Iowa University. Wilma married Ira “Ike” Hatch on October 17, 1948, at the Manchester Methodist Church in Manchester, and was blessed with one daughter, Mary Jo. Wilma taught rural school in Delaware County and then worked as a receptionist and medical assistant for Dr. Willett for 30 years. After retirement she worked as a Sales Associate at Walmart for 24 years. She was a member of the Manchester Methodist Church and served as Sunday School Teacher. Wilma also volunteered for Reach to Recovery and American Cancer Society. Her priority was her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed raising Miniature Schnauzers and Suffolk Sheep. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Randy) Shover of Manchester; three grandchildren, Kurt (Sandra) Shover, Keri (Rob) O’Brien, and Scott (Susan) Shover; two great-grandchildren Sydney and Sladen Shover; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hatch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Holthaus; husband, Ike; sisters, Beulah Holthaus, Lois Tibbott; brother-in-law, Chet Hatch and her sister-in-law, Berdina (Jake) Mangold.
