Wilma E. (Ham) Enabnit, 95, formerly of Ryan, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan. Family will greet friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Wilma was born July 28, 1912 the daughter of Arthur & Bertha (Kehrli) Hartman. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1930. She was united in marriage to Clyde Ham on November 6, 1932. Wilma operated a restaurant and boarding home in Earlville for many years. After Clyde’s death in 1954, she began working as the head cook at the Earlville school. On March 24, 1961, Wilma married Fred Enabnit of Ryan. The couple farmed north of Ryan until Fred’s death in 1977.
Wilma was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and Golden Circle in Ryan, and a member of the Delaware County Care Review Team.
Wilma’s family includes her daughter, Linda (Dennis) Riley of West Liberty; two step-daughters, Norma (Milbert) Grummert of Des Moines and Anmarye “Rea” (Richard) Kimpston of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Bertha Hartman; her husbands, Clyde Ham and Fred Enabnit; brothers, Harold, Herbert, Stanley “Derek”, and Kenneth; and sisters, Donna Burke Marion and Doris Gibbs; and infant daughter, Janice Ham.
