Willie Wrice, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. No services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Wille was born November 10, 1934, in Arkansas, the son of Isacc and Eddie (Lewis) Wrice. He attended Wynne High School in Wynne, Arkansas. Willie was united in marriage to Rose Bynum on August 26, 1995, in Kansas City. Willie enjoyed being active in church services. He was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to read the Bible. Willie was very family oriented. He was always willing to help and was a shining example for young people. Willie was a loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Wrice; siblings, Carter (Cathy) Wrice and Dorothy Wrice; children, Willie (Bea Gray) Matthew, Kordia Marsenburg, Odette Woods, Teresa (Kevin) Benson, Valdurie Jenkins, Chris (Trana) Wesson; step-children, Jamaal, Tony and Timothy Suell, and Tamara Williams; grandchildren, Rodney (Renee) Miner, Chris and Kimberly Woods, Karmen (Christopher) Dickson, Kandice (Corey) Mays, Kevin (Hoa) Benson, Jr., Krystal (Brandon) Watkins, Keishia Benson, Mikayla Matthews, Nosayaba (Crystal) Ohanmu, Tyrell Jenkins, Rasheda and Alissa Marsenburg, Destiny and Destined Benson, Chris (Dominique) Wesson II, and Cailyn Wesson; great-grandchildren, Rodney Kevon, Rashad, and Solomon Miner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Isacc and Eddie Wrice; and siblings, Eddie Howard Wrice, Laura Gaye, Rosetta Wrice, and Charlene Freeman.
