William James "Bill? Wilson, 69, of Walker, formerly of Toddville, died Sunday, October 24, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, after a short illness with leukemia. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion by the Rev. Mike Shultz. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, rural Alburnett. Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; his children, Bill (Lois) Wilson of Lisbon, Cindy (RJ) Carson of Marion and Rick Wilson of Toddville.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Holly Carson, Matt Wilson, Greg (Sara) Carson, Debra (Ahmad) Rachman, Emily Wilson and Cailey Carson; and two great-grandchildren, Derek Wilson and Zaid Rachman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beulah A. (Ivan) Lundgren.
Bill was born the son of Meryl and Dorothy (Mason) Wilson on April 27, 1935, in Cedar Rapids. On June 29, 1956, in Marion, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Ruth Fennern. Bill graduated from the last graduating class of Toddville High School in 1953, and he then attended the University of Iowa.
Bill was employed at National Oats as a miller and supervisor for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Benton City Lodge No. 81, AF &
AM at Shellsburg.
He loved time with his family, fishing, camping and going to tractor pulls. Bill always enjoyed watching Hawkeye sports. Bill with his wife, Jeanette, were very proud of winning two fishing tournaments on White Earth Lake in Minnsesota.
