William Roger Paul, 67, of 1125 Waubeek Rd., died Saturday, January 11, 2003, as a result of an accident on his farm. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Springville Cemetery, Springville, Iowa.
Survivors include his sisters, Laura Mae Barker of Cedar Rapids, Hila Pusateri of Vinton and Edna Henderson of Independence. He was loved by 23 nieces and nephews, numerous great-and great-great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Arthur Paul; and a sister, Dorothy Bliss.
Roger was born December 2, 1935, to William and Mabel Nielsen Paul. He lived his entire life on the family farm near Waubeek. Roger farmed for many years and also worked at Iowa Steel in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army in Okinawa and Guam building air strips.
