William (Bill) Donald Olson, 65, of Marion, died Sunday, August 4, 2013, at home. A private graveside service will be held.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; four children Marisa, Scott, Laura, and Sean; a sister, Karole; a brother, Rick; and five granddaughters.
Bill was born May 27, 1948, the son of Donald and Dorothy (Smith) Olson in St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in Fremont, California. Bill retired from the U.S. Army in 1989. On October 9, 1997, he married Cheryl Blofield.
Bill was a member of American Contract Bridge League. He loved photography, gambling, music, and playing the guitar. Bill was fluent in nine languages.
