William "Bill? R. Lennox, 83, of Coggon, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2005, at United Parish Church in Coggon, by the Rev. Stan Wierson. Inurnment: Coggon Cemetery. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, from 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; his children, Susan (Bill) Gericke of Central City, Linda (Richard) Dickson of Stone City and Roger (Sandra) Lennox of Coggon; five grandchildren, Douglas and Daryl Gericke, Matthew Fitzgerald, Mary Nelson and Jesse Lennox; three stepgrandchildren, Chad, Kent and Emily Noska; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Barry of Clearwater, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Richard Gericke; two brothers; and four sisters.
Bill was born on January 14, 1922, in Coggon to Jesse and Grace Ellis Lennox. On May 30, 1942, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Fisher in Central City. Bill retired from farming in 1983. He was a member of United Parish Church, a 50-year member of Mecca Lodge No. 523 A.F. & A.M. and the Two Cylinder Club of Eastern Iowa. Bill was also a 4-H leader and a Farmers Co-op board member in Central City.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
