William J. Kerscher, 84, of Central City, died due to complications of pancreatic cancer, Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, by Pastor Sam Dronebarger. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the funeral home in Central City. Private graveside service: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include his children, Pamela (Harry) Durocher of Pepperell, MA, Steven (Alma) Brandenburg of Hamilton, OH, and Marc (Kathi) Kerscher of Central City; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Connie.

William was born January 11, 1928 in Columbus, OH, the son of Leo and Veronica (Doran) Kerscher. He attended school in Columbus, graduating in 1946. William was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1946 to 1948. He married Connie King on November 17, 1958 in Hamilton, OH. Connie died December 13, 2007. William worked for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 25 years. He was Scout Master for Troop # 44, and had served as President of J.C. Clegg Library in Central City.
