William Harrison Kay

William “Bill” Harrison Kay, 92, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Memorial Service will be at a later date at Squaw Creek Baptist Church, Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Rita; three sons, Bill, Tom, and Doug; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bob; and sister, Pat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Richard.
Bill was born September 10, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of William H. and Ethel (Parcels) Kay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Corps, having served during WWII. Bill married Rita Berglund on September 25, 1943, in Jacksonville, FL. He had a long career in insurance management. Bill enjoyed flying, woodworking, and singing and playing music at retirement homes. He was a member of Squaw Creek Baptist Church in Marion.
