William F. Holub, 67, of rural Center Point, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following complications of surgery. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by the Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, where a rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; his children, Cheryl (Jon) Glaser of West Des Moines, Gregory (Teresa) Holub of Cedar Rapids and Karen Holub of Gilbert, Arizona; six grandchildren, Emily and Libby Glaser, Marissa, Ryan, Spencer and Dylan Holub; three brothers, Virgil (Janie) Holub of Swisher, Lary (Suzanne) Holub of Center Point and Gary Holub of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Doris (Richard) Divoky of Solon, Phyllis Rausch of Cedar Rapids and Mary Kruse of Center Point; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brother-in-laws, Bill Rausch and Gary Kruse.

Bill was born August 29, 1936, the son of August and Agnes Walker Holub, in Prairieburg, Iowa. On August 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Alice Berry in Walker, Iowa. For 30 years, Bill worked at Wilson Foods, retiring in 1987. He also was a farmer since 1970. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ducks Unlimited and served on the Board of Directors for the Center Point Bank. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, visiting and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill will be truly missed by his family, friends and his dog, Sally.
