William “Bill” Henderson, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, August 16, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Memorial gathering: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with military rites by American Legion Post #727.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Coghlan Henderson of Cedar Rapids; children, Shawna (Matt) Matheny, Bryan (Lindsey) Henderson and Ryan “Chico” (Christina) Henderson all of Cedar Rapids; two step children, Angela Coghlan and Amy Coghlan both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Lizzy”, Rebecca, Paige, Austin, Timothy, Olivia, Elizabeth, Qwinton and Meleah; a special niece, Keri; father, William D. Henderson Sr. of Green valley, AZ; siblings, Dennis Henderson of Phoenix, Arizona and Peggy (Buck) Schneider of Cedar Rapids; and his friend and mother of his children, Dorcas Henderson of Cedar Rapids
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn.
Bill was born on March 30, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, son of William Sr. and Evelyn (Woosley) Henderson. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bill married Dianna (Coghlan) Rich on August 3, 2013. He was a former member of the Eagles Club “Jesters” known as Willie Lump the Clown. Bill worked as a truck driver for 40 years. He liked to go bowling, golfing, fishing and most of all spending time with his family.
