William J. “Bill” Schuster, 68, of Delhi died September 20, 2013 at the Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 by Father John Kremer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi. Visitation: 3:00 – 8:00 pm , Monday, September 23, 2013 with an 8:00 Vigil Service at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home in Earlville. Additional visitation, one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Delhi.
Bill was born October 26, 1944 in Manchester, the son of Henry and Minnie (Miller) Schuster. He graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1963. Bill and Bobbie were married in March 1987. Bill farmed on the family farm in Delhi his entire life.
Bill was a lifelong member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi. He loved farming and enjoyed 4-wheeling, playing pool, and enjoyed baseball – especially the Cubs.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bobbie Schuster of Delhi; brother, David Schuster , brother and best friend, Dan (Jayne) Schuster both of Delhi; sister, Joann Brawner of Cedar Rapids; three step-children, Don Reid of Juneau, AK, Margo Reid of Arvada, CO, and Kim Reid of Lake in the Hills, IL; seven step-grandchildren, Mark, Alex, John, Jenna, Kyle, Lauren, and Kennan; and nieces and nephews, Chris, Cindy, Andy and Megan.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Mike Brawner.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bill’s name for Maquoketa Valley Dollars for Scholars.
