William Allen Dekarske, 57, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Dyersville, Iowa, died peacefully on January 6, 2014 from an extended illness at Covenant Hospital in Waterloo.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Delaware by Rev. Donald Krause. Friends may call from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m, at the church Friday, prior to services. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery, Delaware. Arrangements handled by Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville.

Bill was a field manager for West Bend Mutual for many years. Bill retired early and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware, where he used to serve as an usher. Bill was most recently employed part-time at the Dyersville Redemption Center.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy (Guetzko) Dekarske; his step-children, Amber (Wes) Vaske, of Austin, Texas, Austin Wessels of Delhi; his children, Sarah, Nicole, Renee, and Jacob; three siblings, Tom (Sheri) Dekarske of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Marilyn (John) Gibbs of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Bob (Sally) Dekarske of Newburgh, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill will be missed by friends and family including the John and Peggy Guetzko family of West Branch; the Grant and Tana Guetzko family of Delhi, Iowa; the Beth (Guetzko) and Rod Birdsell family of Sioux City, Iowa; and the Becky (Guetzko) and Kit Hart family of Pearl, Mississippi.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marion Dekarske.
