Willard J. Ehrman, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Service: 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday. Burial with military rites Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Pat Mote, Christy (Greg) Klees and Sandy (Jack) Thompson all of Cedar Rapids, and Barb (John) Gilbertson of Blairstown; two brothers, Harry (Katy) Ehrman of Amana and Lloyd (Evelyn) Ehrman of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie; and sister, Irene.
Willard was born on September 29, 1922, in Ladora, Iowa, son of Edward and Elise (Dickel) Ehrman. He graduated from Amana High School in 1940. Willard served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. On September 3, 1949, he was married to Lorraine McMahon at Immaculate Conception Church in Cedar Rapids by Monsignor Malloy. Willard worked for Wilson Foods for 42 years. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids VFW Post #788.
