Willa P Orcutt (Carlson)

Willa P. Orcutt, 90, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Monticello Nursing Home, Monticello, Iowa, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa by Rev. Richard Parler. Family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 13 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Willa was born August 8, 1918, the daughter of Erik and Elma (Aldrich) Carlson. After graduating in 1936 from the Delhi High School, she attended business college in Cedar Rapids, graduating in May 1937. On June 11, 1938, she was united in marriage to Calvin E. Orcutt in Manchester. The couple lived in the Springville, Central City, Volga and Manchester areas.
Willa enjoyed attending church, traveling and gardening and being with her family.
Willa is survived by four children, Judy (Frank) Yanda of Monticello, Nancy (Larry) Sherrill of Cedar Rapids, Steve (Eileen) Orcutt of Anamosa, and Mark (Cherie) Orcutt of Huntsville, AL; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Erland Carlson.
Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Elma Carlson; her husband, Calvin Orcutt; one son, Cal Orcutt; one grandson, Steve Orcutt, Jr.; two granddaughters, Darcey and Julie Yanda; and one sister, Aimee Lee.
A special thanks to Gay, the nurses and nurses aides at the Monticello Nursing Home and Above and Beyond Hospice for their care.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Willa’s honor.
