Willa Mae Brown, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Gospel Tabernacle Church, 2531 42nd Street NE, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Willa was born December 15, 1929, in Vian, Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Callie (Dotson) Hardin. She married William V. Brown on November 12, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi. Willa worked at Cherry Burrell for 15 years. She was also a CNA and a beautician. She had an everlasting love for spreading the gospel of the Lord. Willa was a devoted missionary that opened her home to everyone. She shared her joy of faith by singing at church and also her love of fellowship while cooking at home.

Willa is survived by her sons, Vernon Brown of Cedar Rapids, Vincent Brown (Victoria Bagirov) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Victor (Sandy) Brown of Cedar Rapids, and Jason (Jody) Brown of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Lance Moreland; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and close family friend, LaQuesta Doolin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Callie; husband, William V.; son, Gary Brown; daughter, Vanessa Moreland; and sister, Jewel Beaudreaux.

A memorial fund has been established.
