Wilbur Warren Mangold, 87, of Coggon, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in his home after a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Central City by Rev. Stan Wierson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of sixty-nine years; three children, Duane (Lenny) Mangold of Ames, William (Jean) Mangold of Coggon, and Dawn (John) Mayer of Neola; six grandchildren, Anne (Bill) Johnson, Amy (Attila) Konkoly, Adam (Robin) Mangold, Rebecca Mangold, Jacob and Tedd Mayer; five great-grandchildren, Heather and Courtney Johnson, and Ibolya, Béla, Ákos Konkoly; and two sisters, Blanche (Paul) Carr and Fern Codey; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Mangold.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Loren Mangold.

Wilbur was born June 11, 1919, to William and Allie (Whitney) Mangold on the family farm. On May 20th, 1937, he was united in marriage to Donna Lucille Jane Graul. Wilbur farmed for many years on his farm east of Coggon. In addition to his own farm, he did custom work for neighbors. He developed the WD Meadowview Development in Coggon. He served as a Board Member for the North Linn School District. Wilbur was a Farm Bureau member and was a member of the Delaware County Tax Review Board. He was also the president of the Township Fire District in Coggon for twenty years. In 1992, he and Donna moved to Coggon.
