Wesley J. Petrick, 94, of Manchester died Friday, January 11, 2013.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. Dennis Cain. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester with a 4:00 pm Scripture Service. Additional visitation, one hour before services Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors in Manchester.
Wesley was born August 8, 1918 in Prairieburg, IA, the son of Joseph and Anna (Lawrence) Petrick. Wesley enlisted in the United States Army on October 24, 1942 during WWII.
On September 11, 1951, Wesley was united in marriage to Anna May McNamara at St. John’s Catholic Church in Coggon. The couple farmed near Manchester their entire life. Farming was his life………..he could fix anything. Wesley enjoyed being a grandpa, taking them to Hardees every Saturday morning and attending school masses faithfully.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Anna May; three children, Josephine Pearce of Massachusetts, John (Becky) Petrick of Eldridge, IA and Rachel (Scott) Bishop of Manchester; five grandchildren, Sean Kearney, Courtney Petrick, Leah, Nathan, and Chad Bishop; one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Wells; and one sister Rose Mullis of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Petrick; and siblings, Lillian (Rollie) Shover, Joseph (Leonore) Petrick, Thomas Petrick, and Josephine (LeRoy) Smith and a brother-in-law, George Mullis.
