Wendell C. Hebert, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; his children, John Hebert and Cynthia (Mike) Jacobs; his stepdaughter, Terry (Ken) Butler; his mother, Larinda Hebert; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; two stepsons, Gerald and Michael Frey; and his brother, Lonnie.
Wendell was born April 15, 1937, the son of Carl and Larinda (Marth) Hebert, in Des Moines, Iowa. On August 10, 1974, he was united in marriage to Carol Strub. Wendell worked as a truck driver for various companies.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Wendell.
