Wayne K. Wilson, 70, of Marion, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held from Noon – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the American Legion Post #298, in Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Becky of Marion; sons, Scott (Karen) Wilson of Cedar Rapids and Brad (Tara) Wilson of Metamora, Illinois; grandchildren, Keenan (Theresa), Bailey, Lexi, Ethan, Sydney, Kennedy, and Noah; great-granddaughter, Emersyn; siblings, Delbert Wilson, Harry (Doris) Wilson, Bill (Janet) Wilson, and Mary (Jere) Vyverberg; sisters-in-law, Barb (Chris) Nagel and Beth (Dan) Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lyle; and sister, Elaine.
Wayne was born April 1, 1947, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Miller) Wilson. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1965. On July 6, 1968, in Oelwein, Wayne was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo Kisner. For 36 years he worked for Western Electric, AT & T, and Lucent Tech. He then was a school bus driver for Ankeny Schools until retiring in 2005. Wayne loved following his boys and grandkids with their school activities. He was a people person with the ability to talk to anyone. Wayne enjoyed doing puzzles and gambling with friends.
