Wayne A. Garvin, 70, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away at his home Thursday, November 16, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Bohnenkamp - Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester.

Wayne was born August 31, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Dean and Naomi (Bulson) Garvin. He was a graduate of West High School in Waterloo. On May 13, 1967, Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Jenny Darling. They celebrated their golden anniversary this year. Wayne retired from Qwest Telephone Co. in 1995. He was a member of Elks, Communication Workers of America Eastern Iowa Chapter Member, and Lake Delhi Fish Club and Water Quality Team. Wayne was an outdoorsman and spent time boating, fishing, hunting, splitting wood, and working in his woodshop. He enjoyed visiting Alaska, his Harley, and playing the drums. Wayne was a great father and grandfather and wonderful husband.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jenny Garvin of Manchester; his son, Matt (Marcia) Garvin and their son, Dean, of Marion; his daughter, Sarah (Greg) Lankford and their children, of Conway, South Carolina, and their children Matthew of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Megan of Conway, South Carolina; siblings, Karen (Don) Williams of Manchester, David (Karen) Garvin of Delhi, Doug (Emily) Garvin of Parkersburg; close friends who were like brothers to Wayne, Steve DelaCuesta of Tucson, Arizona, and W.T. “Bill” Mahoney of Chandler, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Lindsay Darling of Manchester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Naomi Garvin.
