Waneita "Nita? Post, 93, of Manchester, died on March 13, 2005 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Manchester by Rev. Wade Kirsteatter. Inurnment will be at Springville Community Cemetery, Springville. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
Waneita was born on February 5, 1912 in Harvey, Iowa, the daughter of John W. and Matilda E. (Antrim) McCarty. She graduated in 1930 from Colfax High School. On June 30, 1932 Waneita was united in marriage to Archie G. Post in Springville. The couple lived various places before moving to Manchester on New Year?s Eve, 1945. Waneita worked for Deer Skelgas and as a bookkeeper for her husband?s business. Waneita especially enjoyed spending time with her family and entertaining nieces and nephews with sleepovers. The couple hosted many family dinners at their large, ten-room house at 512 East Union Street, Manchester.
Waneita was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manchester, the Jolindaha China Club and Phi Delphains. She enjoyed china painting.
Waneita is survived by her son, Charles "Bill? (Vivian) Post of Victorville, CA; four step-grandchildren, Alan Robin, Janet Gomes, Phyllis Sur and Dusty Seifert; eleven step-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Waneita was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Post on April 3, 1996; her parents, John & Matilda McCarty; three brothers, James and Willie McCarty and one in infancy; four sisters, Golda Thomasson, Leona Mahaffey, Buelah Main and June McCarty; and one step-great grandchild.
