Wanda Fay Whalen, 81, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Thursday February 21, 2019, at Willow Gardens surrounded by her family. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Wanda was born August 19, 1937, in Peace Valley, Missouri, the daughter of John and Ruth (Rhoads) Campbell. She married Alfred Whalen on June 12, 1962, in Preston, Minnesota. Wanda was a lifelong homemaker. Wanda enjoyed being at Willow Gardens. She could be found playing Bingo, dominos and attending Bible study.
Survivors include her daughter Tima (Arturo) Melendez; grandchildren, Arturo Melendez, Jr. (fiancé, Lauren Mercil) of Cedar Rapids, Tima Melendez (Tyree Allen) of Marion, Carlos Melendez of Marion and Rubi Melendez of Marion; and great-grandchildren, Izaya and Alayah Allen; brothers, Ronnie Campbell of New Jersey and Terry (Kandy) Campbell of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred and sisters, Shirley McAhren and Janice Campbell; and brother, Roland Campbell.
