Walter A. Bohren, 89, a resident of Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, formerly of Central City, died Friday, August 13, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan by Rev. Roger McKinstry. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his children, Pat Frasher and husband Harold of Center Point, Judy Loughren and husband Tom of Prairieburg and Jerry Bohren and wife Joyce of Prairieburg; a brother, Leo of Coggon; a sister, Emily of Florida; four grandchildren, Susie Loughren, Lisa Seaton, Jackie Ayers and Aimee Frasher; and two great-grandchildren, T.J. and Maycie Ayers.
Walter was born October 3, 1914, the son of Fred and Rosina Bohren in Coggon. On May 25, 1947, he married LaVina Kula in Prairieburg. She died November 8, 1999.
