Waldo “Wally” Ellis Saddoris, 74, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial: Urbana, Iowa.

Wally was born December 3, 1941, to Harry and Stella (Wilcox) Saddoris in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Urbana High School in Urbana, Iowa and then joined the Airforce. He worked at GE Phone in Sarasota, Florida for 28 years until his retirement. Wally enjoyed traveling and pheasant hunting with his family. He was a very lucky gambler and when he was younger he liked to ride motorcycles. Wally was a worldly traveler. He went to 37 countries and 48 states. He was a Vietnam veteran, who served his country for 7 years, 3 months and 27 days. Wally had a love of God, country and his Iowa roots.

Wally is survived by his son Bobbie Saddoris; daughter Kelly Hohlman; brother Steve (Carol) Saddoris of Cedar Rapids; sisters Stella Ann (Keith) Rick of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Margo (Bob) Gates of Brandon, Iowa; special friend Carolyn Morrissey of Marion; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Janyce Kisling; and brother Edgar Saddoris.
