Vivian L. Rowse, 95, of 1700 Park Ave. in Marion, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, following a short illness. Graveside Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Mike Morgan. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie of Marion; her niece, Suanne (Max) Huffman; her nephew, Steven (Alta) Jones; many great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Penny.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, LaVonne Jones.
Vivian was born March 31, 1913, the daughter of Alvin and Lucy (Lindgren) Nystrom in Ogden. She graduated from Boone High School. On October 21, 1966, she married Leslie Rowse. Vivian worked at the Boston Store in Marion and at the Town House as a banquet manager. She helped coordinate many lavish parties over the years at the Town House, the most memorable being when John F. Kennedy came to Cedar Rapids while running for President.
Vivian enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, reading and painting.
