Vivian L. Cornwell, 87, of Manchester, Iowa, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, after a brief illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009 at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Iowa by Rev. Mary Green. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
Vivian was born May 2, 1922 in Mertal, MN, the daughter of Edward and Dora (Rippon) Parker. Vivian received her education in Earlville, Iowa and worked for Ertls Toy Manufacturing in Dyersville for 20 years. On September 3, 1975, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Cornwell.
Living most of her live in Manchester, Vivian enjoyed traveling, dancing, singing and selling items at flea markets.
Vivian is survived by one son, Bob (Vi) Timmerman of Manchester; three daughters, Charlene (Dwight) Beatty of Shellsburg, Donna (Charles) Fierstine of Manchester, Shirley (John) Cole of Pine Bluff, AR; seventeen grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Bawek, Rob Timmerman, Troy Timmerman, Cory Timmerman, Jill (Tony) Hair, Eric Beatty, Angie (Ryan) Fuller, Jessie Fierstine, Jayson (Lynsee) Fierstine, Sarah (Corey) Groth, Roman Theresa Hamlett, Chad Hamlett, Mindy (Kyle) Woltman, Roxanne Vick, Steve Timmerman, Daniel Martinez, and Sheila Mercra; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Francis J. Murray; and one sister, Darlene (Duane) Rethmeier, Manchester.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dora Parker; husbands, Everett Timmerman and Dick Cornwell; a daughter, Diane Riniker; two sons, Ron Timmerman and infant Raymond Earl Timmerman; siblings, Opal Francis, Eugene Parker, Ronald Parker, Thelma Parker, in infancy; and one sister-in-law, Mabel Murray.
