Virginia D. Tudor, 84, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Thursday evening, May 15, 2003, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa, after a short illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday morning, May 19, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Manchester. Friends may call for one hour prior to service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Oelwein, Iowa.

Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia was born February 25, 1919, in Kenley, North Carolina, the daughter of Percy Jasper "P.J.? & Mary Annie (Hughes) Brown. She attended public schools in North Carolina, graduated in 1936 from the Sanford High School, Sanford, North Carolina. On December 16, 1954, Virginia was united in marriage to Ernest M. Tudor in South Carolina. The couple resided in Chicago for a few years before moving to Texas. While in Texas, Virginia worked for the Galveston Sheriff?s Department as a Deputy Sheriff. In October of 1975 Ernest and Virginia moved to Manchester, Iowa. Ernest passed away July 14, 1985. In 1988 Virginia moved to the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa.

Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester. She enjoyed going to church where she could see and visit with the many good friends she had made while living in Manchester.

Virginia is survived by her brother-in-law, Gasper Lombardo of Orange City, Florida; her faithful friends including, the Randy & Kathy Waterman family, especially Sarah, Nicole and Nace, who were precious to Virginia.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, P.J. & Mary Brown; her husband, Ernest, three brothers, Cleveland R. Brown, William K. Brown, and Albert Earl Brown; and her sister, Marjorie Cole Lombardo of Orange City, Florida.
