She was born August 30, 1935, in rural Norway, Iowa, to Henry and Florence (Vette) Uthoff, the eighth of nine siblings. While at Norway High School she excelled in basketball. Her team, with several of her sisters, became state champions. She married Edward L. Alberts, also of Norway, and together they had six children.
On top of being a wonderful serving mother and grandmother she worked many years as a Data Processor for FMC, Colonial Bakery and a few other places. She loved to knit, crochet, embroider, cook, play card games, teach Sunday school and spend quality time with family including granny basketball with many of her sisters.
She is survived by four of her children, Mark (Nancy) Alberts of Marshalltown, Iowa, Susan Riveira of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Sean) Williams of Heber City, Utah and Joseph (Alice) Alberts of Atkins; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Rawson of Cedar Rapids, Bertha Rhinehart of Coronado, California and Marjorie Beatty of Atkins; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Uthoff and Fran Uthoff; brothers-in-law, Richard (Karen) Alberts and Duane Bliss, all in Iowa; her former spouse who helped her raise her children through the hard times, Larry (Jackie) Fenneman of Marion, Iowa; and many other extended loved family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two spouses; and two sons, Bruce Alberts (infant) and Jon Alberts (63); two infant grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Wittenburg, Walter Uthoff, Dave Uthoff, Arlene Wilhelmi-Wear and Maxine Bliss; eight brothers-in-law; and many other close and dear loved ones.
Her greatest gift to the world was her testimony of the love of Jesus Christ. We find peace knowing she was embraced into His loving arms.
