Virginia “Ginny” Ramsey, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Mercy Hallmar, Cedar Rapids, following complications from diabetes. Visitation: 2:00 – 3:30p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa, with the funeral service immediately following the visitation at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Conducted by Pastor Andrew Happ. The burial will take place at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Adel, Iowa, at a later date.
Survivors include her son, Todd (Shelly) Ramsey; daughters, Tisha (Kevin) Kinley, Tanya Ramsey (Alan) Michel; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Ty, Jylian, Caitlyn, Connor, Hannah, Avery, and Sadie; siblings, Ken Fagle and Kevin (Bonnie) Fagle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim.
Ginny was born May 2, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Wesley and Viola (Ondler) Fagle. On September 3, 1961, she married James Leon Ramsey at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for the Center Point-Urbana School District for 26 years as a teacher’s aide at the elementary school. Ginny was a member at Center Point United Methodist Church.
Ginny enjoyed her years working with the children at the school. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling with her husband.
