On June 17, 1949, Virginia was united in marriage to Charles Wesley Beaner at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union, two children were born, David and Nancy. Over their 64 years of marriage, Charles and Virginia lived in Toddville, Midway, and Marion. She worked as a homemaker until going to work as a cook for the Toddville-Alburnett Community School District, where she was the head cook for five years. Virginia later worked as a Sales Manager for Sears Roebuck & Co., retiring after 23 years. She was a member of the Marion Christian Church, where in past years she sang in the choir and helped with the Greeting Card Program. Virginia also volunteered with “The Stitchers”, stitching multiple quilt tops for lap robes for hospice. She and Charles were avid campers and travelers. There were many trips to Pennsylvania to visit Charles’ family and later, several trips abroad. Virginia and Charles built a cabin in Victory, Wisconsin, on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, and enjoyed it for nearly 12 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
