Virginia Ann Kluesner (Gotto)

Virginia Ann Kluesner, 90, of Manchester passed away February 1, 2014.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church by Rev. Richard Gaul. Family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester with a 3:00 p.m. Scripture Service. Additional visitation, one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Virginia was born, July 25, 1923 in Bankston, IA, the daughter of William and Rachal (Callahan) Gotto. On February 15, 1943, she was united in marriage to Edmund Kluesner at Bankston.
Virginia worked as a cook at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Manchester. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 55 years. Virginia enjoyed sports, and was an avid Hawkeye Fan. She loved to bake pies, enjoyed visiting with everyone, and loved the “little ones”. Family was very important and special to her.
Virginia is survived by five children, Patrick (JoAnn) Kluesner of Waverly, Elizabeth Kintzle of Estherville, David Kluesner of Manchester, Lyle (Gloria) Kluesner of Manchester, and Kathryn (Danny) Hunt of Earlville; one daughter-in-law, Alice Kluesner of Manchester; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund in 1977; her parents; one son, Loras Kluesner; siblings, Joe, Gerald, Sylvester, Louis, Ceil, Mary, Agnus, and Elenor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic School or Hospice of Comfort. The family wishes to thank Dr. Boom and all the caretakers who took care of Virginia.
