Virginia M. (Ginny) Konzen, 92, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Earlville. The family will greet friends from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville, with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture service, and from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Friday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Earlville.

Ginny was born April 28, 1923, in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Nic and Gertrude (Kraus) Konzen. She grew up in Earlville. Ginny enjoyed life. She loved playing her piano, cards, and had many traveling experiences with her sisters. She worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., Albuquerque, NM, and St. Louis, MO, from 1948 – 1956, and then had put over 25 years with the National Oats Co in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1980 she retired from work and took care of her parents until their passing in 1986 and 1988.

Survivors include sisters, Marie O’Neill of Algonquin, IL, Jane Woods of Johnston, Iowa, Alice (Dave) Tauke of Dyersville, Iowa, and Kay Wood of Olympia, WA; brothers, Lawrence (Margaret) Konzen of Branson, MO, Joe Konzen of Earlville, Iowa, and Richard Konzen of College Station, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward, Elmer, and William Konzen, brothers and sisters in law, Rita Konzen, Winnie Konzen, Rose Mary Konzen, Jacque Konzen, Virginia Konzen, Robert O’Neill, and Gene Wood.

The family would like to thank the staff for the care and compassion shown to Ginny over the last seven years at the Ellen Kennedy Living Center, and most recently at Oakcrest Manor.
