Virginia “Ginny” Dryden lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Graveside services: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Dryden of Clarence, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughters; sisters, Mary Zaragoza, Bertha Klein, Josephine Nading, Delphine (Bob) Betty , Rosemary (Ruebin) Munoz; brothers, Frank (Rose) Villa, J.J. Duran, Manuel (Kathy) Villa, Joseph (Vickie) Villa; and many nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay Dryden; son, Michael J. “Wolf” Dryden; grandson, Sean Dryden; brothers, Robert, Julius, and Richard Villa; sister, Maggie Wiley; and good friend, Francis Fisher.

Ginny was born in Oelwein on May 3, 1935, to parents Julius and Delphine (Hernandez) Villa. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1954. Ginny married Jay Dryden on June 28, 1956. Ginny loved her time with her casino friends, her flowers, old movies, and spending time with family.
