Violet Ione Bedell, 82, of Cedar Rapids died Friday, November 29, 2013, at her home. Services: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial: Blaine Cemetery, Swisher.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Brenda) Bedell of Lisbon and Judy (Barry) Tritle of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Bedell; six children; eight siblings; and one granddaughter.
Violet was born on October 20, 1931, in Anamosa, Iowa, daughter of Fred and Katherine (Zerbe) Northrup. She married John Albert Bedell February 5, 1952 in Arkansas. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking and baking. Violet was known for Vi’s Pies.
