Viola E. Klein, 87, of Manchester died March 27, 2010 at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Visitation: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 30th at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Viola was born June 22, 1922 in Earlville to Thomas and Frances (Haas) Moorman. She attended school in Earlville. On November 28, 1944, Viola was united in marriage to Joseph Klein at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester. The couple farmed near Dundee for 42 years before moving to Manchester in 1989.
Viola was a homemaker and helped on the family farm raising five children. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren.
Viola is survived by her husband, Joe Klein of Manchester; five children: Dennis (JoAnn) Klein of Hiawatha, Diann (Thomas) Hayes of Lamont, Stephen (Debbie) Klein of West Branch, Sue (Dan) Lynch of Farley, and Jon (Mick) Klein of Dundee; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Frances Moorman; one grandson, Derek Bauer; five sisters; and five brothers.
