Vincent S. "Bob? Foley, 89, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center and longtime resident of Marion, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Del Bear with military honors. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat (Ron) Williams of Cedar Rapids and Linda (Terry) Eldred of Marion; a sister, Betty (Ed) Gorius of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Todd Williams, Tammy Roberts, Jeff Eldred and Eric Eldred; five great-grandchildren, Sara Roberts, Katie Roberts, Shauna Williams, Tyler Eldred and Annika Eldred; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Frances Holladay and Louise Evans; two brothers, Eugene Foley and Charles Foley; and two siblings who died in infancy, Paul LeRoy Foley and Helen Pauline Foley; and a stillborn sister, Genevieve Foley.
Vincent was born December 8, 1915, the son of Frank Patrick and Mary Foley in Neodasha, Kansas. Vincent was proud to have served with the U.S. Army during WWII, including five overseas campaigns in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatres. He married Phyllis Ledvina on July 19, 1941. She died March 18, 1994. Vincent worked at LeFebure for over thirty years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion who will perform military honors.
