Victor L. Usher, Sr., 67, of 1327 10th Street NW, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Steven Rosonke of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Private family burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Shane Usher and wife Deidra, Marilyn Varner and husband Steve, Jim Usher, Patti Johnson and husband Michael, Victor Usher, Jr, and Terry Usher and wife Laura, all of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Aaron, Cody, Tobi, Amber, Ashley, Tara, Adam, Sean, David, Andrea, Jeremy and Kelly; a brother, Donald J. Usher and wife Lucille of Bellevue, Iowa; two sisters, Donna J. Minder and husband Jack of Cedar Rapids and May A. Erixon of Onawa, Iowa; and his former wife, Gayle Prior.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Alice Jean Goddard.
Victor was born May 20, 1936, the son of Victor and Cecelia Emanual Usher, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was employed as an auto mechanic for a few years and then worked at Quaker Oats, retiring after 20 years of service.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Victor.
