Verna Mae Clute, 88, of Coggon, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010, at Evergreen Estates III, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010, at United Parish, Coggon, by Chaplain Kim Vogel. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Iowa.
Survivors include 3 children, Doris (Jim) Hoskins of Coggon, Barb (Jim) Brecht of Center Point, and Don (Lisa) Clute of Coggon; 8 grandchildren, Darrin Peyton, Rani (Brett) Lange, Nicki (Joe) Mingo, Roger (Sarah) Brecht, Al (Rachel) Brecht, Jennifer Clute, Angie (James) Woge, and Jason (Jo) Clute; 18 great-grandchildren with another baby Brecht (Al & Rachel) due in November; 2 brothers, Dean and Dale Lippincott; 1 sister, Virginia Zimmerman; and 1 brother –in-law, Jim Clute.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.B. Clute; a daughter, Jill; 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Verna was born February 5, 1922, the daughter of S. Ray and Agnes (Douglass) Lippincott, in Brooklyn, Iowa. She married Robert Clute on December 31, 1941.
