Vera Neumeyer, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, in her home following a sudden illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Tom Carver. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Versailles Cemetery, Versailles, Missouri.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond of Cedar Rapids; her daughter, Patricia Coghlan of Solon; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister, Willa Marr of Arlington, Virginia; and a brother, Billy Rumans of Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sons, David in infancy and Allan in 2002.
Vera was born November 21, 1923, in Versailles, Missouri, the daughter of William and Faye (Lees) Rumans. On October 24, 1942, in Versailles, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Raymond Neumeyer. Vera was employed for 20 years as a bus driver for the Cedar Rapids Schools.
