Vera J. Klumpar
September 19, 1916 — November 21, 2007
Vera J. Klumpar, 91, of West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there November 21, 2007, as a result of Alzheimer’s Disease. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church. The Rev. Linda Bibb will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Vera is survived by her two daughters, Percy Caviness and husband Jim, and Kathy Martin and husband Irv; five grandchildren, Ron (Mary) Caviness, John (Connie) Caviness, Carol Hickey, Ric Martin and Linda (Steve) Kappler. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Joyce (Henry) Cole of Houston, Missouri.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband George in 2003, her granddaughter Cathy Jo Caviness, four sisters and two brothers.
Vera was born September 19, 1916, the daughter of Clark and Hazel Herington. She graduated from Grant High School in 1935. She and George were married January 19, 1936. She retired as a cashier from Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Co. in 1976. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Vera’s desire was to please God, her family, and her friends. She lived her life in a loving way. She was a delight to all.
