Velva Mae Wilson

Velva Mae Wilson, 92, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away at the Good Neighbor Home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 30th, 2023, at the Delhi Legion Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. Private Graveside Service will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.

Velva was born May 1, 1931, in Delaware, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Hattie (Benter) Mesch. On October 4, 1952, in Mason City, Iowa, Velva was united in marriage to Eldon J. Wilson.

Survivors include her sons, Darwin (Jane) Mesch of Delhi, Kenneth (Judy) Wilson of El Cajon, California, Dean (Robin) Wilson of Stoddard, Wisconsin, Gary (Marilyn) Wilson of Delhi, Larry Wilson of Juneau, Wisconsin and Doran (Patty) Wilson of Delhi; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Annabelle Oswald of Monticello, Iowa; brother, Duane (Cathie) Mesch of Donna, Texas; sisters-in-law, Etta Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Wanda Wilson of Manchester, and Donna Mesch of Hiawatha, Iowa.

Velva was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldon; sister, Virginia Freeze; brother, Donald Mesch; daughter, Holly Ann; grandson, Nicholas Mesch; great-granddaughter, Alexis Hofland; and daughter-in-law, Christine Wilson.
