Valentina P. Skepskaia

Valentina P. Skepskaia, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Russia, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at her home in Cedar Rapids. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Russia. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion, Iowa, is assisting the family.
Valentina was born January 19, 1938, in Russia, the daughter of Peter and Paulina Yankova. She was united in marriage to Gregory Skepski. Valentina worked as a nurse at a mental clinic for many years in Russia. She moved to the United States in 2013 to be with her daughter, Olga. Valentina was a member of St. John Orthodox Church in Cedar Rapids.
Valentina is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Olga (Jerry) Hupe of Cedar Rapids; one grandson, Alex (Kristina) Volkov of Bettendorf, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Sofia and Ivan; three great-grandchildren by marriage, Jennifer, Jerrod, and Jody; five great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Vladimir Yankov of Russia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Alexandra and Svetlana.
