Troy Jon Kowalsky, 45, died Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 4:00 ?" 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Father Mark Osterhaus officiating. Private family burial will occur.
Survivors include his children, Ryan, Keegan, and Aaron, and their mother, Brenda, all of Cedar Rapids; his father, Jon (Fay) Kowalsky of Fairfield Glade, TN; and his paternal grandfather, Arnold Kowalsky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda.
Troy was born July 23, 1962, the son of Jon and Linda (Hagge) Kowalsky in Waterloo, IA. Troy attended Kennedy High School and was very active in multiple sports. He went on to play baseball at the University of Iowa. He continued being involved in sports coaching youth baseball and football teams. His greatest joy was attending his children’s sports events and school activities. He could always make you smile and put you at ease.
A college education fund has been established for Troy’s children at Farmers State Bank in Marion, IA.
