Trenna E. Pollet, 87, of 343 26th Street N.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in her home after a long and full life. Services: 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Dyrland. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Smith of Cedar Rapids; son Robert Pollet of Yardley, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Teresa, Scott, April, Pamuela, Christine, Deborah, Alanna and Danielle; 15 great-grandchildren, Trenton, Kasey, Jennifer, Peter, Shane, Jeremy, Amanda, Lucas, Anastasia, Samantha, Madison, Brandon, Tara, Alexandra and Rhianna.
Trenna was preceded in death by her parents, Orley and Sigrid; husband, Arthur; son, Arthur, Jr. and three brothers, Robert, Vernon and Orley;
Trenna was born June 7, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Orley and Sigrid (Eckstrom) McCune. On January 21, 1938, she married Arthur Pollet. He died July 8, 2006. She worked for Quaker Oats and sold Stanley Home Products for many years. She also owned and operated her own business, where she bought and sold antiques, which she retained fond memories of throughout her life.
Trenna loved her family, having family gatherings and spending time with friends, including playing cards and board games. She was a loving Grandmother, often caring for the children and supporting them as they grew up. In her later years Trenna was supported by family and her beloved Golden Retriever, Lucy. Trenna was a loving person, caring for people in need and elderly friends and neighbors.
