Tracey Renee Goedken, 40, was called home to Heaven Saturday, October 3, 2015, in Ankeny, Iowa. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Faith Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; mother, Gale Shepherd Fridley; father, Charles Fridley; grandmothers, Luna Shepherd and Essie Fridley; father and mother-in-law, Steven and Teresa Goedken; sister-in-laws, Amy (Daniel) Starr, Rachel (Stephan) Howard; brother-in-law, Jacob Goedken; five nieces, Ashley, Katelyn, Olivia, Samantha, Natalie; aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, James Virgil Shepherd and Grandville Fridley.
Tracey was born July 4, 1975, to Charles Fridley and Gale Shepherd Fridley in Austell, Georgia. At the age of seven, Tracey put her faith and trust in Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her childhood years were spent growing up in Tennessee. She graduated from Lenoir City High School and attended college at Middle Tennessee State. Tracey and Michael Lee Goedken were married on August 31, 2013, in Ankeny. She kept her southern accent and ties but fell in love with Iowa and it became her home. Tracey enjoyed baking, sewing, reading and crocheting. She had small hands but her heart was big, tender and kind. Tracey enjoyed spending time with loved ones and helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and those whose lives she touched.
